ASTM A320 Grade L7M Screw

Product Description

ASTM A320 Grade L7M Bolt, is a special fastener developed for the most demanding conditions in the oil and gas industry. L7M bolts, After production, their hardness is limited by a special heat treatment. This controlled softening process provides resistance to stress cracking in sulphurous environments. It is commonly used in refineries in cold climates, offshore platforms and sour gas lines. For full compatibility, you must ASTM A194 Grade 7M must be set with nuts.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Product
What is the difference between L7 and L7M?

L7 only offers low temperature (-101°C) resistance. L7M L7M offers both low temperature resistance and has been hardened to make it resistant to cracking in sulphurous environments. L7M has lower tensile strength than L7 but is safer against chemical corrosion.

Which nut should be used for L7M bolts?

In order for the system to maintain its integrity against corrosion cracking, it must ASTM A194 Grade 7M nuts should be used. These nuts are also reduced in hardness. It is risky to use with the L7M stud as the standard Grade 7 nuts will remain too hard.

Why choose L7M over B7M?

B7M is for sour gas lines at room temperature or high temperatures. L7M is for scenarios where the environment contains both sour gas and the temperature is very low. If the plant is in a cold region such as Russia, Canada, or if the fluid flowing through the line is extremely cold, B7M cannot meet the impact resistance; it must L7M should be used.
