ASTM A193 Grade B16 studs are fasteners made of heat-resistant alloy steel, designed for systems operating under high temperature and pressure. B16 Although it has a high strength of class B7, it shows superior performance by maintaining its mechanical properties at temperatures up to 538 °C (1000 °F).
It is used in industrial applications such as oil and natural gas plants, steam turbines, high temperature boilers to ensure long life and safe connection.

No. B16 studs are resistant to high temperature and pressure, but low corrosion resistance. Not for use in corrosive environments such as sea water.
It is generally preferred in steam lines, power plants and petrochemical plants operating under thermal expansion and high temperature loads.
It is not intrinsically stainless. However, protection against corrosion can be achieved with suitable coatings (e.g. black oxide, galvanized, HDG, PTFE).
