DIN 931

Product Description

DIN 931, defines hexagon-headed, half-threaded bolts. These bolts have threads only on part of the shank and are preferred in connections requiring high tensile loads due to their long shank length. The half-thread design is ideal for tensioned assemblies, flange connections, and the assembly of precision machine parts.

DIN 931 Bolts, unlike the fully threaded version of DIN 933, feature a threadless section up to a certain length. This makes them suitable for more durable and rigid connections. They are widely used in mechanical engineering, steel structure assembly, and industrial systems.

ISO 4014 It is largely compliant with the standard. Only minor differences exist in metric tolerances.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Product
What is the difference between DIN 931 and DIN 933?

DIN 931 bolts are half-threaded, while DIN 933 bolts are fully threaded. Half-threaded bolts can withstand higher tensile forces.

What does it mean to be fully geared?

This means that the entire length of the bolt is threaded. This ensures maximum grip even at short connection distances.

Which nuts are used with this product?

They are generally used with DIN 934 hex nuts, DIN 985 fiber nuts, or DIN 6915 heavy-duty nuts specific to the application.
